COMMUNITY MURAL PROJECT - June 2024 at The Dove Block Project
This was a 5-day community wide mural project. The underlying metaphor is the power of repeated small actions that come together to form a bigger picture. This workshop was sponsored by a generous gift of the Spencer Tullis Giving Fund.
Participants created 700+ miniature black and white prints that came together to form a mural. From far away the mural appears as one large black and white landscape, but closer inspection reveals several miniature images of all kinds: abstract, words, landscapes, simple shapes, flowers, etc.
You can view the final mural and some short clips from the event on my Instagram. Tap on the circle below my bio titled "700 Tiny Prints!"
Nest
2022. Block Print.
This edition was completed for a print exchange between the Print Club of Rochester and the California Society of Printmakers.
"My visual vocabulary is drawn from common threads and roots that surround and connect us. I had read recently that nests are often used by more than one species. Sometimes a nest is repurposed when abandoned, sometimes intruders take over by force and sometimes harmless freeloaders invite themselves to live alongside."
